The Company was established
in late 1974 in Camberley, Surrey and grew steadily
from a single branch to six offices by 1980. In 1981
the business changed from a partnership to Carson &
Company Limited and grew rapidly through the next decade.
In 1989 the business was acquired by London & Manchester
Assurance Group plc who were subsequently acquired in
1997 by Friends Provident plc. In August 2002 the estate
agency businesses of Friends Provident were acquired
by Countrywide plc, the current parent Company of Carson
& Company.
When the business was first formed the focus was entirely
on Residential Estate Agency, but developed over the
years into a diverse property services business with
the addition of New Homes, Land and Planning in the
late 70’s, Mortgage Services and Chartered Surveyors
divisions in 1985 and Lettings and Property Management
which was established in 1990.
Throughout the past 28 years Carson & Company has
had a reputation as being market leaders in training
and development of staff. In 1994 the Company became
the first Estate Agency group to gain recognition as
an Investor in People business and we have continued
to maintain the high standards necessary to gain re-accreditation
on each re-assessment since then.
